Each year, the European School of Banking Management strengthens its social commitment by renewing its Christmas celebration with the donation of a defibrillator to a charity, an act that underscores our continued dedication to the health and safety of the community. This gesture is part of a broader social commitment that includes supporting organizations such as UNICEF and other non-profit organizations, reflecting the School's ongoing and multifaceted commitment to promoting collective well-being and supporting vital initiatives at the local and global levels.
Over the past few days, Santa Claus brought a semi-automatic AED defibrillator to the Waka Ki Dojo Cultural Association, a place where the noble art of AIKIDO is practiced, thus contributing to the creation of a cardioprotected area.
The European School of Banking Management recognizes the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and considers it strategic for the development and well-being of the local community. We are aware that corporate growth and community well-being must go hand in hand, and that without active social responsibility, lasting and significant growth is impossible.
Over the past twenty-five years, we have made ethical responsibility a fundamental pillar of our business. Personally, I see Social Responsibility as a way to achieve a balance between economic growth and social and environmental well-being. Every action matters, and as a company, we are committed to making informed decisions that positively impact these areas. The vision of profit as the sole corporate objective, once championed by figures like Henry Ford, is, for us, an outdated and limiting paradigm.
Regarding the donation of the defibrillator, it's important to note that over 60 cardiac arrests occur in Italy each year. Every minute that passes reduces the chances of survival, and rapid intervention with a defibrillator can make a difference. The widespread availability of these devices throughout the country is essential and significantly improves the management of cardiac emergencies, as demonstrated by the increased survival rates thanks to the widespread use of AEDs.
The donated model is the state-of-the-art LIFEPACK CR2, an American defibrillator featuring cutting-edge technology with integrated connectivity and child-specific modes, representing a significant advance in the treatment and prevention of cardiac emergencies. This device is installed in the meeting room of the Waka Ki Dojo Cultural Association, becoming a tangible symbol of our commitment to the health and safety of the community.
Through gestures like these, we aspire to leave a positive legacy and educate future generations on the value of solidarity and the common good. It's not just the donation that matters, but the message it conveys: a constant commitment to improving society, supporting the health, social cohesion, and the civic and moral growth of our community.
