Gaming doesn't go on holiday: from the European Championships to the Olympics

Edited by Joseph Malvisini

In these first warm days of summer, let's see how the gaming world continues its activity.
First of all the European Championships, which have just concluded, and immediately after the Tokyo Olympics.
An activity that sees sales outlets and online operators incessantly continue with quotation, verification and control activities.

Generally, it should be remembered that point-of-sale operations, although varying according to the individual dealership, involve 365-day activity. This excludes only closure days (holidays or other holidays), which must be reported to the Customs and Monopolies Agency to justify the failure to submit data and the resulting tax revenue shortfall.

But beyond the retail aspects, online activity continues unabated, offering a wide selection of products and bets. These bets, it should be remembered, are verified and monitored to identify any potential risks of match fixing, a topic that, while not directly related to the fight against money laundering, is nevertheless an integral part of the player protection system and (in the most virtuous cases) a potential verification of the existence of networks that could raise suspicions of any anomalies attributable to money laundering.
