Angelo Russo, a former student at the European School of Banking Management, shares his experience with the Anti-Money Laundering Diploma program, which he was able to pursue thanks to funding from the Lazio Region's "Torno Subito" program.
Why did you decide to do the AML Master's?
My goal was to diversify the skills I had acquired at university with my law degree and enrich them with new economic and legal knowledge.
Did you receive any funding or financing to participate in the master's program?
Thanks to the Lazio Region's "Torno Subito" (Be Back Soon) program, I was able to enroll in such a high-level master's program as the Anti-Money Laundering Diploma. I was able to attend for free, taking advantage of the funds provided by the program, which covered both the total cost of the master's program and the logistical expenses of traveling, allowing me to attend classes comfortably.
How did you learn about the European School of Banking Management and why did you choose it for your education?
It was the internet that introduced me to ESB, particularly its training portals, which provided me with all the information and news I needed to make my choice. In fact, no matter what type of search I did, ESB always came up among the first results on Google. Thanks to the information I found online, I realized that, in the field of anti-money laundering training, the most prestigious program is offered by ESB and that this business school is among the most important in the field of higher education in banking, both in anti-money laundering with its "Anti-Money Laundering Diploma" program and in business administration with its MBA in Banking.
What is your opinion of the classroom phase with regards to organization, teaching methodology, teacher skills, interaction and exercises?
Overall, my opinion is very positive. I appreciated the high quality of the instructors, highly skilled and always available, and the use of advanced technology both in the classroom and at home: in the classroom, through the use of a state-of-the-art interactive whiteboard (IWB); at home, with 24-hour access to each student's personal area on the e-learning platform, which allowed us to further develop the concepts acquired in the classroom through educational activities and in-depth handouts. Furthermore, the free Wi-Fi provided by the school allowed us to freely browse the internet for the purpose of completing assignments and research projects as part of the master's program, which involved us engaging in interesting and constructive group exercises based on teamwork.
To what extent do you think the master's degree will influence your professional career?
I can certainly say that the Master's degree was crucial to my education, enriching my skills and professional profile. Thanks to the Master's degree, I was able to find an internship in line with my expectations in the banking and financial consulting sector, which I hope will be the first step towards a truly respectable career.
